Glass has special properties such as transparency, perspective, sound insulation, and thermal insulation. With the continuous improvement of people's living standards, the application of glass products in decoration is becoming increasingly widespread. Currently, glass doors, windows, partitions, and glass decoration are very popular in home decoration.

Classification of Glass Materials

Glass materials can be divided into two categories.

The first type is glass panels, mainly used for parts that require lighting in decoration. There are various types such as flat glass, embossed glass, frosted glass, coated glass, engraved glass, tempered glass, etc., which can be selected according to the requirements of different parts and decorative effects.

The other type is glass bricks, mainly used for glass partitions, glass walls and other projects, mainly hollow glass bricks. It can be divided into two types: single chamber and double chamber, with various specifications such as square bricks and rectangular bricks. Its surface shape is also very rich, and can be selected and used according to decoration needs.

Method for Quality Identification of Glass Materials

1. Inspection of glass panels.

The appearance quality is mainly checked for flatness, observing for quality defects such as bubbles, inclusions, scratches, lines, and fog spots. Glass with such defects will deform during use, reducing its transparency, mechanical strength, and thermal stability. Therefore, it is not suitable for use in engineering. As glass is a transparent object, its quality can be easily distinguished by visual inspection during selection.

2. Inspection of glass processing products.

In addition to testing according to the requirements of flat glass, the processing quality should also be inspected to ensure that the specifications, dimensions, processing accuracy, and pattern clarity meet the requirements. At the same time, there should be no defects at the edges.

The appearance quality of hollow glass bricks is not allowed to have cracks, opaque unmelted materials are not allowed in the glass body, and poor welding and bonding between two glass bodies are not allowed. Visually, the brick body should not have ripples, bubbles, or layered stripes caused by heterogeneity in the glass body. The concave surface of the large surface of the glass brick should be less than 1 millimeter, and the convex surface should be less than 2 millimeters. The weight should meet the quality standards, and there should be no quality defects such as surface warping, notches, burrs, etc. The angle should be square.
