It is mainly used in the transportation industry, construction industry, and light industry in China. China's tempered glass products are mainly produced using physical (thermal) tempering methods, with a high degree of mechanization and automation. There are currently more than 250 tempered glass production lines, including more than 90 imported lines, with an annual production capacity of over 70 million square meters. Laminated glass: Laminated glass has safety due to its excellent impact resistance, and is a type of safety glass mainly used in the transportation and construction industries in China. China's laminated glass products are mainly produced by dry method, with a high degree of mechanization. There are currently more than 150 production lines, including more than 50 imported lines. The annual production capacity is about 20 million square meters, and the output in 2002 was over 10 million square meters.
Coated glass: As a new generation of processed glass, coated glass has developed rapidly in China due to its excellent thermal insulation performance and decorative effect. China's coated glass is mainly produced offline using cathodic sputtering method, with a few using online production. It has a high degree of mechanization and automation, with over 300 production lines, including more than 40 imported lines. The annual production capacity is about 55 million square meters, and the output in 2002 was about 30 million square meters.
Since the end of the 20th century, low radiation Low-E coated glass with better thermal insulation and anti glare properties has been put into the Chinese market. With the successive hosting of the 2008 Olympic Games and the 2010 World Expo in China, the demand for Low-E coated glass will increase significantly due to the construction of a large number of venues and related buildings. The market demand for Low-E glass in China has been very optimistic in the past 10 years.
Mirror glass: China has been using glass to make mirrors for over 80 years. At present, there are nearly a thousand mirror manufacturing enterprises in China that use secondary processing of flat glass, among which large and medium-sized mechanized mirror production lines account for more than 30%, and about 20 silver plated mirror production lines have been introduced. The rest adopt semi mechanized production, and manual workshops have gradually been eliminated. The annual production capacity is about 45 million square meters, and the actual annual output is difficult to calculate.
Decorative glass: There are various types of decorative glass in China that utilize secondary processing of flat glass, such as painted glass, laser glass, embossed glass, sandblasted glass, ground glass, holographic rainbow glass, iron foil film glass, colored glazed (tempered) glass, hot-melt glass, and so on. At present, there are about a thousand units (sets) producing decorative glass, including hundreds of imported equipment, with an annual production capacity of about 20 million square meters.
