We know that insulated glass is a glass product that effectively supports and evenly separates two or more pieces of glass, and seals them with adhesive around them, creating a dry gas space between the glass layers. Its main materials are glass, warm edge spacers, corner bolts, butyl rubber, polysulfide rubber, and desiccants.

From the definition of insulated glass, we can see that it is not just a piece of glass, but also composed of other materials, each of which has its own advantages.

1. Molecular sieve. Its function is to keep the interior of the chamber dry, reaching -40 ℃ without condensation; Insulated glass generally uses 3A molecular sieve as the water absorbent, with a water absorption rate of over 20%.

2. Gas. The middle layer of insulated glass needs to be filled with gas, but the performance will also vary depending on the selected gas. Good insulated glass is usually filled with inert gas in the middle layer.

3. Butyl rubber. It is a plastic adhesive that mainly plays a role in water tightness and air tightness. The bonding between it and glass is mainly physical bonding. In our daily lives, the most common thing we hear about hollow glass is the presence of fog, and one of the reasons is whether the sealing is done well.

4. Polysulfide adhesive. Its function is also to protect and seal, making the insulating glass a unit.
