The use of glass in decoration is very common, from exterior wall windows to indoor screens, door leaves, and so on. Glass is mainly classified into flat glass and special glass. Flat glass is mainly divided into three types: flat glass with grooves or without grooves, flat glass with flat pull method, and float glass. Due to factors such as uniform thickness, flat and parallel upper and lower surfaces, high labor productivity, and ease of management, float glass is becoming the mainstream of glass manufacturing.

1, Ordinary flat glass

1. 3-4 millimeter glass, also known as millimeter in daily life. What we mean by 3-centimeter glass is glass with a thickness of 3mm. This specification of glass is mainly used for the surface of picture frames.

2. 5-6 millimeter glass, mainly used for small area translucent shapes such as exterior walls, windows, door leaves, etc

3. 7-9 centimeter glass is mainly used in large areas such as indoor screens with frame protection.

4. 9-10 centimeter glass, suitable for indoor large-scale partitions, guardrails, and other decoration projects.

5. 11-12cm glass, can be used in floor spring glass doors and some partitions with high pedestrian flow.

6. Glass with a thickness of over 15 centimeters is generally sold less on the market and often requires ordering. It is mainly used for larger areas of ground spring glass doors and whole glass walls on the exterior walls.

2, Other types of glass mainly include:

1. Tempered glass. It is a prestressed glass made by reprocessing ordinary flat glass.

Compared to ordinary flat glass, tempered glass has two major characteristics:

1) The strength of the former is several times that of the latter, the tensile strength is more than three times that of the latter, and the impact resistance is more than five times that of the latter.

2) Tempered glass is not easy to break, and even if it breaks, it will shatter in the form of sharp edged particles, greatly reducing harm to the human body. 2. Frosted glass. It is also made by frosted processing on ordinary flat glass. Generally, the thickness is below 9 centimeters, with more thicknesses of 5 or 6 centimeters.

3. Sandblasting glass. The performance is basically similar to frosted glass, with the difference being sandblasting instead of frosted. Due to their visual similarity, many homeowners and even decoration professionals confuse them.

4. Embossed glass. It is a type of flat glass manufactured by rolling method. Its biggest feature is that it is transparent and opaque, and is often used in decoration areas such as bathrooms.

5. Hollow glass. Adhesive bonding is commonly used to keep two pieces of glass at a certain distance, with dry air in the gap and sealed with sealing materials around it. It is mainly used in decoration projects with sound insulation requirements.

6. Laminated glass. Laminated glass is generally composed of two pieces of ordinary flat glass (which can also be tempered glass or other special glass) and an organic bonding layer between the glass. When damaged, the fragments still adhere to the adhesive layer, avoiding damage to the human body caused by fragments splashing. Mostly used for decoration projects with safety requirements.

7. Bulletproof glass. In fact, it is a type of laminated glass, but the glass made up of it mostly uses high-strength tempered glass, and the number of interlayers is relatively large. It is commonly used in decoration projects such as banks or luxury homes that require high safety standards.
