Colored glass belongs to the special glass category, also known as heat absorbing glass, which can usually block about 50% of sunlight radiation. A 6mm thick dark blue glass can only transmit 50% of solar radiation, while brown and bronze glass can only transmit 25% of solar light. Therefore, heat absorbing glass is suitable for building doors, windows, or exterior walls in hot areas that require both lighting and insulation. This not only provides insulation and anti glare effects, but also creates a beautiful cool atmosphere. But the sunlight that can kill bacteria, disinfect, and deodorize in urban residential areas is blocked by half of these colored heat absorbing glasses, which is not worth the loss. In addition, some residents have installed screen windows with a light transmittance of 70%. When combined with colorless transparent ordinary glass, the total light transmittance is around 61%, which is just suitable. However, if colored heat absorbing glass is used, the light transmittance is only 35%, which will definitely affect the indoor lighting requirements. Some residents also seal their balconies with colored heat absorbing glass. The balcony is the only place where the living room comes into direct contact with nature and should not be enclosed, let alone decorated with colored glass. If living in low light environments such as blue gray or brown for a long time, the indoor visual quality will inevitably decline, which can easily cause physical and mental fatigue and have adverse effects on health. High transparency ordinary glass should be used for indoor decoration, and sunshade devices that are easy to open and close should be installed outside the window. Transparent or semi transparent curtains and opaque window curtains can be installed indoors. In this way, it can not only provide good functions such as windproof, rain shelter, heat insulation, and sound absorption, but also fully enjoy the sunshine.
