Especially on exterior windows, it is the most important building envelope because of the transparent lighting and heat retention of the glass. In different occasions, glass with different functions is also required. Tempered glass, insulating glass, heat reflective glass and other functional kilometers came into being, representing the current level of science and technology in the glass industry. Today, I will revisit these glass products with unique technology.
1,Tempered glass
Tempered glass is heated to near the softening point by heating the float glass in the tempering furnace, and then cooling it quickly and uniformly, forming a uniform compressive stress on its surface, improving its mechanical strength, effectively improving the wind pressure and impact resistance of the glass, and improving the thermal shock resistance of the glass.
Tempered glass is widely used in places with high requirements for mechanical strength and safety. Such as glass doors and windows, building curtain walls, glass furniture, interior partitions, elevators, furniture, etc.
Performance characteristics of tempered glass
1.Safety: When broken, it is split into small obtuse particles similar to honeycombs, which almost do not cause major harm to the human body. When ordinary glass is broken, it is a sharp large flake fragment, which is easy to cause serious damage to the human body.
2. High strength: 4-5 times higher than the strength of ordinary glass of the same thickness.
3. Stable heat resistance: It has good thermal stability, and can withstand about 3 times the temperature of ordinary glass of the same thickness, and can withstand a temperature change of 200 °C. Therefore, it can play a short-term fire prevention role in the event of a fire.
4. Large disturbance: 3-4 times larger than ordinary glass of the same thickness. When the tempered glass is subjected to load, its maximum tensile stress is not located on the surface of the glass like ordinary glass, but in the center of the plate of the tempered glass.

2,Laminated glass
Laminated glass is a composite glass made of tough polyvinyl butyral film (PVB) sandwiched between two or more pieces of glass at high temperature and high pressure. Because the toughness of the PVB film is very good, when the laminated glass is violently hit and broken by external force, the film layer will absorb a large amount of punching power and make it decay quickly, because the laminated glass is difficult to be broken even if the laminated glass is broken, the glass fragments basically adhere to the film, keeping the fragments on the whole laminated glass from falling off, so it becomes the real sense of safety glass.
Laminated glass made of transparent PVB film is basically the same as ordinary glass in appearance and installation, and it is durable. It is widely used in building lighting roofs, canopies, high-grade curtain wall doors and windows, shop windows, furniture, elevators, etc.

Safety: The laminated glass installed on the building is impacted by any external force, even if the glass is broken, it can be kept intact in the original frame, and has a certain role of blocking wind and rain.
The noise-reducing PVB film has a hindering effect on sound waves, thereby reducing noise and reducing noise interference at work or home.
Anti-ultraviolet rays: great blocking effect on ultraviolet rays in sunlight (up to 99% or more) to avoid ultraviolet radiation. As a result, it protects valuable indoor furniture and works of art from the effects of UV rays.
Bulletproof and explosion-proof: multi-layer laminated glass can be used to manufacture various levels of bulletproof and explosion-proof glass.
Security: Because the glass knife cannot be used to effectively cut the installed laminated glass, and the use of other tools to break through the laminated glass for a long time and loud sound, it is difficult to enter the room by cutting or breaking the laminated glass and is easy to be found, and it has a strong resistance to malignant destruction, theft and violence.

3,Insulating glass
Insulating glass is a glass product made of two or more pieces of glass separated by an aluminum frame filled with molecular sieve adsorbent and separated by a certain width of space, bonded and sealed with butyl glue and then sealed with silicone glue or structural adhesive, which has good sound insulation, heat insulation, heat preservation, anti-condensation and other effects.
Insulating glass is widely used in all kinds of building curtain walls, doors and windows, interior partitions or freezers.

Performance and characteristics of insulating glass
Sound insulation performance: insulating glass is an ideal noise insulation material, which can generally reduce the noise by 30 decibels, and the inert gas can be reduced by about 5 decibels on the original basis.
Thermal insulation performance: it can effectively reduce the heat transfer coefficient U value, and if it is filled with inert gas, the heat transfer coefficient can be further reduced.
