Bulletproof Laminated Glass

Bulletproof laminated glass is a composite material obtained by special processing of glass (or plexiglass) and high-quality engineering plastics, which is usually a transparent material, usually including a polycarbonate fiber layer (also known as PC board) sandwich-between ordinary glass layers.

Bulletproof laminated glass is usually used in specific occasions and facilities, such as: finance, insurance, securities, museums, military facilities and aircraft wind shields and special vehicles.

Bulletproof laminated glass varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. But basically it is a normal glass layer sandwiched with a layer of polycarbonate material, a process called lamination. In the process, a substance similar to but thicker than ordinary glass is formed. Polycarbonate is a hard and transparent plastic (PC), and the thickness of bulletproof glass is generally between 7 to 75 mm. A bullet fired at bulletproof glass will penetrate the outer layer of glass, but the polycarbonate glass material absorbs the energy of the bullet, preventing it from penetrating the inner layer of glass.

The total thickness of bulletproof glass is proportional to the bulletproof effect, generally do not allow the use of tempered glass, because the tempered glass will form a dense small particles affect the observation, and if the small particles after the tempered glass is broken, it is easier to fall off, which is not conducive to the protection of safety.

In addition, the bulletproof laminated glass is divided into the bomb surface (that is, the direction of the bullet strike) and the back bullet surface, and the bomb faces the direction of the shooting when installed.

5. Enhanced vision: Although bulletproof laminated glass may have a slightly more limited field of vision compared to traditional glass, it is still able to provide an open and clear view of the outside environment. The plastic layer between the glass layers allows for some transparency, while also providing an additional layer of protection against projectiles.
